SALVATORE DI VITTORIO was born in Palermo, is an Italian composer and conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of New York. He has been recognized by Luigi Verdi (Philharmonic Academy of Bologna) as a “lyrical musical spirit, respectful of the ancient Italian tradition an emerging leading interpreter of the music of Ottorino Respighi."
Chamber Orchestra of New York’s special event performance features pianist Simone Dinnerstein in Mozart’s famous Piano Concerto 21 “Elvira Madigan” alongside John Williams ‘E.T. Suite (from the film). Tchaikovsky’s festive Nutcracker Suite is also combined with the world premiere of Salvatore Di Vittorio’s Suite Verdiana, a free transcription on five of Verdi’s favorite operas.
