2023 Luncheon Honorees

This year IWL's annual Luncheon will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Metropolitan Club, 1 East 60th Street. There will be silent and live auctions, raffles, awards and special presentations.

The Autumn in New York luncheon is our primary means of raising funds which are distributed throughout the year to children of Italian descent who are in need. This year, the honorees are: Dr. Leonard N. Girardi, the O. Wayne Isom Professor and Chairman of The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine; and Gianfranco Sorrentino and Paula Bolla-Sorrentino, Restaurateurs & Entrepreneurs; owners of The Leopard at Des Artistes, Il Gattopardo Restaurant, Mozzarella & Vino. Gianfranco Sorrentino is the President of the non-profit organization, Gruppo Italiano, dedicated to fostering Italian Culinary Culture and promoting genuine Italian products through educational series and scholarships.

The proceeds from this gala allow us to continue to help children who suffer from physical disabilities and serious emotional trauma. Since 2001, the 'I Nostri Bambini' campaign has donated close to $3,000,000. In addition to individual cases, funds are also given to many organizations that help Italian-American children.
