We have received your gift and your generosity overwhelms and honors us.
The firestorms that ravaged our hometown last year left us and our community scrambling, at first for safety, then, eventually for normalcy. We have found a new residence to create home, and local citizens have opened their hearts to us and other fire survivors. Our employers have given us time both away from, and at work to heal.
Daniel’s school district has agreed to keep him enrolled locally for this year and next, despite our temporarily moving out of the district. With his special needs, routine is very important, and the continuation of school with his friends and familiar staff is comforting.
Community has come to mean something more to us than just where we happen to live. It is finding family where once only strangers existed. And now comes the realization that community extends beyond the confines of our local region. Your thoughtfulness shows us we truly live in a small world. The Azevedo Family
There are no words to truly show how grateful we are for the grant you provided for us … for swimming lessons and speech therapy. Thank you!!The Cafaro Family
Gianni is mid-way through his week of day camp and having a blast! He has had another opportunity this summer to spend a week swimming, playing basketball, and just being a kid, because of the IWL. If not for your generosity providing a shadow helper, he would not be able to participate in a summer camp because of his special needs. This is the week that Gianni looks forward to all year and we are so grateful that you make that possible for him.The Guarino Family
Dear The Italian Welfare League,
Word cannot express how grateful Taya and I are for your kindness, generosity and support during this difficult time. I know you didn’t know my husband Anthony, but he was a good man who fought a tough battle with ALS. I will never forget the words he spoke often “it’s not what you take from life but what you give back to others, is what ultimately defines us”.The Senerchia Family
Dear Italian Welfare League,
I wanted to thank you very much for the grant money allowing our son Thomas to attend the C.A.M.P. program with Speech Language Pathology in Motion. Financially, it eases the strain on our budget and more importantly, it allows Thomas the opportunity to participate in activities that foster his educational and emotional growth.
Thank you again.The Green Family
Since my son began his sessions with his speech therapist Alex, not only have I noticed a change in his communication but so have others. His vocabulary has expanded and he has gained great confidence in his ability to communicate with others intelligently. My son actually cried when he was told his sessions were going to end. I would like to thank everyone at the Italian Welfare League for their efforts in helping my son, as he struggled greatly when he first began the program. He at least now has the tools he needs to continue his growth in conquering his speech and language barriers. Thank you again for your sincere efforts.A family at Jewels Institute
We can’t thank you enough for awarding our son Nico with a grant for equine therapy. To say that he has been enjoying his sessions would be an understatement! We are so grateful! The Mossa Family
Thank you so much for your support. Angelina was able to have a great camp experience while being kept safe!! Thanks to the Italian Welfare League. The Pagano Family
This past December, I came home from work one day to find Lea with a smile on her face, playing with a brand new iPad in her room. When I looked at it, I also saw that her name was engraved in the back. My wife then explained to me how she got it. My wife Gina and I would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for your generous gift for Lea this past Christmas season. She loves her iPad!!!!! Her new thing is finding it, picking it up, bringing it to us, and pushing it up against our bodies until we sit with her and play with it!! It makes our day ever time she does this. The Bevilacqua Family
We are forever grateful for your generosity. You have made Jeremy very happy with his new stroller.
Thank you again!
Just a quick note to let you know the boys are doing so well in gymnastics/tumbling. It has had a calming effect and has toned down the energy level at home. Plus, they love going and it appears it’s been another really good opportunity for them to learn to follow direction. I highly recommend for any special needs mom.
Thank you again!The O'Neill Family
Our family would personally like to thank you for your help with our son’s medical bills. Each year, due to Thalassemia, we are overwhelmed by bills and are so very grateful for your help. You have alleviated a lot of stress for us and we want you to know how much that means! The Camilleri Family
Dear Italian Welfare League,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Italian Welfare League for awarding our daughter with grant money provided to ACDS. Markella is a very special three and half year little girl who was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome, a very rare form of epilepsy when she was only six months old. Markella has made tremendous progress in her development since her diagnosis and continues to thrive since she began attending ACDS this fall.
Thank you again for your generosity, it truly means a lot!The Giammalva Family

Please send our heartfelt thanks to all of your members and donors who make these grants and this assistance possible. The Vigliotti Family
